Christmas Island Phosphates has been in operation for over 30 years and has exported over 16 million tonnes of rock phosphate to customers in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. It is the Island’s largest private business and employer, and continues to be the backbone of the Christmas Island economy.
Kemoil
Kemoil is a new joint venture with PRL Global Ltd. It is an oil-product trading company, trading all qualities of oil-refined products and biomass.
Indian Ocean Oil Co.
Indian Ocean Oil Company was established in 1997. It manages and supplies Christmas Island’s diesel, petrol and LPG requirements, and provides fuel bunkering services. It also supplies fuels to the Australian Navy, Border Force, and the Commonwealth operated Indian Ocean Power Authority.
