The PRL Group has a rich history that included in the 70’s and 80’s the ‘fight for equity’ resulting in the achievement of wage parity and better conditions for the Asian workforce. This was followed by a struggle to reopen the mine after it was closed by the Commonwealth Government in 1987. The overriding aim of creating PRL and reopening the mine was to create jobs to support the community of Christmas Island. As a result, our company has always had a humble and community-focused approach to business.
