We also provide significant support to the Christmas Island District High School (CIDHS) through a range of awards, mentoring and workplace learning opportunities these include.

Bursary Awards for students pursuing tertiary education on the mainland
Achievement awards for CIDHS students
Workplace learning opportunities and vacation placement for CIDHS and tertiary students
Supporting CIDHS in the development of an alumni association

Community Activities

Christmas Island Phosphates is committed to supporting the cultural, social, sporting and future development of Christmas Island and its residents.

We provide financial and technical assistance to the community, through charity, cultural, educational, art, environmental, historical and religious groups. Our program is managed by a committee with an established criteria, policy and assessment process for the allocation of all funding which is available online and from our offices on Christmas Island.

As a major stakeholder within the Christmas Island community, we are particularly passionate about improving and supporting education, across a broad range of age and experiences. PRL Group has built a close relationship with Christmas Island District High School (CIDHS), through which we have become a leading benefactor and proud sponsor of the school’s annual academic achievement and bursary awards.

PRL Group also hosts students within its work experience program where students are given the opportunity to become part of the workforce within their chosen areas, gaining practical knowledge and skills.

With our support and that of the wider community, these students will begin the next stage of their lives with the confidence and guidance to go far. We are currently supporting the CIDHS in the development of an Alumni Association.
